Interior Design in Monmouth County

Monmouth County contains several distinct patterns of use. Water-adjacent homes need practical decisions around light, storage, materials, and indoor-outdoor movement. Established homes often need a clearer relationship between inherited rooms and contemporary routines. Commercial projects require an equally deliberate plan for visitors, staff, traffic, and finish performance.

Monmouth County is really three counties wearing one name. There is the Two River area, where Rumson, Fair Haven and Little Silver sit on the peninsula between the Navesink and the Shrewsbury, with shingle-style estates, brick Georgians and river houses built to catch the afternoon light off the water. There is the shore itself, from Long Branch and Asbury Park through Spring Lake and Sea Girt, where the housing runs from Victorian cottages with deep porches to oceanfront condominiums to Shore Colonials rebuilt above flood elevation. And there is the inland county, Freehold and the horse-country roads around Colts Neck, where lots get larger, the barns are real, and the houses are newer and considerably bigger.

INSABELLADESIGN is based here. The studio is at 160 White Road in Little Silver, and the firm has been designing interiors since 1996, nearly thirty years, across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Florida. Over that span the practice has designed more than 3 million square feet for 500-plus clients. We are ASID and IIDA members and a WBENC-certified woman-owned firm, and founder and principal Beth Insabella Walsh leads every project personally.

The recurring short list in this county: open the first floor without losing the proportion of an older house. Build a kitchen that can feed eight on a Tuesday and forty on the Fourth of July. Make a primary bath feel like the reason you came home. Get the sightlines to the water right. And handle salt air honestly, which means specifying hardware, finishes and fabrics that survive a mile from the ocean instead of chalking in two seasons. That is the work we offer here, start to finish.

What We Design Across Monmouth County

We work on whole-home renovation, kitchens, baths, family rooms, primary suites, custom millwork, lighting, and furnishing plans. The process begins with the home as it is actually used: where people arrive, gather, work, store, and retreat. That information gives the design direction a purpose beyond individual selections.

Selected office, medical, hospitality, amenity, retail, and professional environments are planned around the operational experience of the space. The aim is a setting that feels composed to visitors and practical to the people using it through a full day.

INSABELLADESIGN was established in 1996 by founder and principal Beth Insabella Walsh, ASID, IIDA, CID. The studio is based in Little Silver, New Jersey and is WBENC-certified and woman-owned. A principal-led process connects the design direction to the planning, materials, documentation, sourcing, coordination, and installation support appropriate to the engagement.

Residentially, we take on whole-home renovations, gut interiors, additions and ground-up construction throughout the county. Space planning comes first, then interior architecture: custom kitchens with proper working zones, spa primary baths in honed marble or limestone, custom cabinetry and millwork, paneled studies, wine rooms, mudrooms sized for a family that actually goes to the beach. Lighting is laid out room by room. Furnishings, rugs, textiles and art are chosen against the same plan and installed together. For the older shore and river houses we respect what's worth keeping, original stair details, transoms, generous window openings, and rebuild the rest to a modern standard. For new construction we come in at schematic design with the architect and builder, while ceiling heights and window placement are still on paper.

On the commercial side we design the kinds of spaces Monmouth County works in. Law and financial offices around Red Bank and Freehold, private medical, dental and aesthetic practices, hospitality and club interiors along the shore, showrooms and boutique retail. Every engagement gets the full-service treatment: space planning, custom millwork and casework, lighting design, durable finishes, furniture specification and project management through opening. What we don't do is home staging, in Monmouth County or anywhere else.
