Manasquan incorporated as its own borough in 1887, carved out of Wall Township, and grew up around the rail line that reached the shore in 1878. The original housing stock was wood-frame summer bungalows built for that rail traffic, and much of it is gone now: bungalows have been coming down for larger, year-round houses for years, block by block, from the beachfront to Riverside Drive and Brielle Road.
That teardown-and-rebuild cycle is where interior design in Manasquan gets interesting: the borough caps new construction at 30 feet from the road grade, but a post-Sandy ordinance allows building up to 38 feet without a variance on a lot in FEMA's advisory flood zone — so the flood zone designation, not the floor plan, is usually the first thing decided. Luxury Residential Interior Design in Manasquan
Most of our Manasquan work is new construction or a full rebuild on a torn-down bungalow lot: kitchens built around real cooking with a large island, primary suites with a freestanding tub and heated floors, mudrooms and outdoor showers placed for a house two or three blocks from the sand. An elevated foundation changes the entry sequence, too — we plan the stair, the landing, and the garage level as part of the interior, not an afterthought.
For the year-round houses that aren't being torn down, the work is usually opening a closed 1950s or 60s floor plan: kitchen to family room, a proper primary suite where there wasn't one, more window than the original builder ever specified. The palette stays coastal but hard-wearing — warm whites, natural woods, rope and rattan accents, upholstery rated for a wet swimsuit and a dog that's been on the beach.

Commercial Interior Design in Manasquan
Main Street is Manasquan's real commercial spine, anchored by the Algonquin Arts Theatre, a former 1938 movie house now a 540-seat live venue, and a walkable run of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques around it. 1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.
