Fire, water, wood, and stone: the Holmdel primary suite
How a dim primary bedroom suite in Holmdel became a bright one with a padded headboard wall, orb chandeliers, a two-sided fireplace, and a meditation area.
The suite was dim. The project page describes turning it into a bright, calm retreat, and it names the pieces that did it.
The headboard wall is a padded cream faux leather grid, framed by painted wainscoting. Matching orb chandeliers hang on either side of the custom bed. A sitting area carries the smart technology so the bed does not have to.
The meditation and music area is used every day. It brings together fire, water, wood, and stone: a two-sided fireplace, mother-of-pearl tiles, a petrified wood table, candle-like sconces, and a water feature.
What the suite shows
A primary suite can hold two different rooms without a wall between them. The bedroom is soft and padded; the meditation area is hard and natural. The two-sided fireplace is what lets them share a space. The New Jersey chapter of ASID gave the project a Silver award, as the project page records.
