In the Tudors, our work is equal parts restoration and reinvention: preserving the timbering, plaster, leaded windows, and carved detail that make these houses landmarks, then threading in the kitchens, baths, and systems a modern family needs. A dark, chopped-up ground floor becomes a light, connected sequence of rooms; the character stays, the claustrophobia goes.
In the colonials and estates, we deliver the full estate program: chef-caliber custom kitchens, spa primary baths with heated stone and freestanding tubs, paneled studies and libraries, mudrooms, and the built-ins and millwork that make a large formal house feel warm and lived-in. 1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

Yes. Scarsdale's storybook Tudors are some of our favorite commissions. Most of our work in these houses is really editing: keeping the millwork, the leaded windows, and the fireplace surrounds that give the house its identity, while replanning the layout so a family with modern habits, an open kitchen, a mudroom, a workable flow, is not fighting a 1920s floor plan every day.
Can you handle a full estate or colonial renovation?
Yes, that is where a lot of our Scarsdale work lives. On an addition or a full renovation we coordinate directly with your architect and builder from the framing stage, so the new square footage matches the trim profiles, ceiling heights, and proportions of the original house instead of reading as a wing bolted onto it.
You're in New Jersey. Do you serve Scarsdale?
Yes. We serve Scarsdale and greater Westchester, and many clients keep more than one home and want a consistent eye across all of them.
How do you balance historic character with modern living?
There is a genuine trade-off, and we do not pretend otherwise. Original moldings, hardware, and proportions stay untouched wherever they still work. Where a period layout genuinely gets in the way of how a family lives now, closed-off kitchens or a single tiny powder room, we replan just that part, so the renovation reads as one era in dialogue with another rather than a costume over new construction.
Do you design offices and practices in Scarsdale?
Yes, offices and practices are a meaningful part of our Scarsdale work, medical, dental, financial, and retail among them. For a practice especially, the interior functions as a credibility signal before anyone reaches the exam room or the conference table, so we spend real budget on the reception and waiting areas rather than treating them as an afterthought.
