Interior Design in Bronxville, New York
Bronxville is one square mile inside the Town of Eastchester, and nearly all of it is the work of one developer: William Van Duzer Lawrence bought the 86-acre Prescott farm in 1890 and began building an artists' colony the next year. Lawrence Park has carried a National Register listing since 1980, ninety-four buildings on twenty acres, mostly designed by the architect William A. Bates in Tudor Revival, Shingle, and Colonial Revival styles, bounded by Prescott, Kensington, Garden, Chestnut Avenue, and Pondfield Road.
Pondfield Road carries the edge of that historic district into the shops of the village center, where the housing turns almost entirely to prewar co-ops. There's very little rental housing here; co-op ownership is the norm, which means alteration agreements and board approval are part of nearly every interior project before a contractor shows up. The village sits about fifteen miles north of Midtown Manhattan, closer in than the reputation suggests.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Bronxville
In the Tudors of Lawrence Park and the surrounding hillside streets, we restore and reinterpret: preserving the timbering, leaded windows, stone, and carved detail that Bates and his contemporaries built over a century ago, then adding the kitchens, spa baths, and systems a household needs now. We open a dark original plan just enough for light and flow, keeping the intimate, handcrafted scale that got the district listed on the National Register in the first place.
In the prewar co-ops of the village center, the work is proportion and craft: restoring cornices, herringbone floors, and paneled doors, reworking a galley kitchen into one built for actual cooking, and adding the millwork and built-ins that make a classic apartment feel tailored instead of rented. We plan around the building's rules as much as the client's: what the board will approve, what the alteration agreement requires, and what the structure will actually let you move.

Commercial Interior Design in Bronxville
Bronxville's village center is compact and upscale, mostly along Pondfield Road: boutique retail, private medical and dental practices, wealth-advisory and professional offices, the occasional restaurant. Custom millwork, refined lighting, and finishes suited to storefronts almost as old, and as closely watched, as the co-ops upstairs.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Discretion and continuity matter in Bronxville, and residents notice fast when a designer doesn't understand the village's rules, written and unwritten. INSABELLADESIGN runs every project, the Lawrence Park Tudor, the co-op renovation, the Pondfield Road retail fit-out, through founder Beth Insabella Walsh personally.
We're a woman-owned, WBENC-certified firm with ASID and IIDA credentials, and we've worked in the region since 1996. In a village of one square mile and just under seven thousand people, a renovation gets a lot of scrutiny before it gets a compliment, and we design for the scrutiny first.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.
