Interior Design in Bronxville, New York
Bronxville is barely a square mile, and every inch of it is deliberate. Planned in part by William Van Duzer Lawrence as an artists' colony, the village is a jewel box of storybook Tudors and stone-and-stucco homes climbing the hillsides of Lawrence Park, wrapped around a walkable center of elegant prewar co-op buildings. It is old money, understated and self-possessed, a fifteen-minute train ride from Grand Central and a world away in feel. Nothing here is accidental, and nothing new gets a pass just for being expensive.
That refinement is exactly the register we work in. INSABELLADESIGN has designed for the region's most discerning addresses since 1996, and Bronxville rewards a designer who understands both the hillside Tudor and the prewar apartment: the leaded glass and hand-hewn timber of the former, the plaster cornices, hardwood, and proportion of the latter. This is a place where taste is inherited, and we design accordingly.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Bronxville
In the Tudors of Lawrence Park and the Hilltop, we restore and reinterpret, preserving the timbering, leaded windows, stone, and carved detail that make these houses beloved, then adding the chef-caliber kitchens, spa baths, and systems a modern family needs. We open dark original plans just enough to bring in light and flow while keeping the intimate, handcrafted character that defines the village.
In the prewar co-ops of the village center, our work is about proportion and craft: restoring cornices, herringbone floors, and paneled doors, reworking galley kitchens into real cooking spaces, and adding the custom millwork and built-ins that make a classic apartment feel tailored. We design for the way these buildings live: gracious entertaining rooms, refined libraries, and quiet, elegant primary suites.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Discretion, craft, and continuity matter in Bronxville, and residents can tell instantly when a designer does not understand the village. INSABELLADESIGN runs every project, the Lawrence Park Tudor, the prewar co-op renovation, the village retail fit-out, through founder Beth Insabella Walsh personally, so the standard this community expects never gets diluted.
In a village this small, reputation is everything, and word travels quickly among neighbors who compare notes closely. We are a woman-owned, WBENC-certified firm with ASID and IIDA credentials, and since 1996 we have earned the trust of clients who care less about the new thing than about the right thing.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

Bronxville Interior Design FAQs
Do you work on Bronxville's Tudor homes?
Yes. Most of that work starts with the windows and doors, since original leaded glass and hand-planed casings are usually worth saving even when everything around them gets replaced, and we build the kitchen and bath scope around keeping them intact.
Can you renovate a prewar co-op in the village?
Absolutely. Co-op renovations here usually hinge on what the building's alteration agreement allows before design even starts, so we look at the proprietary lease and house rules first, then plan the kitchen, bath, and millwork scope around what the board will actually approve.
Do you manage co-op board approvals?
Yes. We put together the plans, product cut sheets, contractor insurance certificates, and any other documentation your building's board package requires, and we attend the board meeting if that is what gets a project approved without a second submission.
You're based in New Jersey. Do you serve Bronxville?
Yes. We serve Bronxville and greater Westchester, and many clients keep more than one home and want a consistent eye across all of them.
Do you design commercial spaces in the village?
Yes. Most of our village commercial work is small footprint by nature, a single-practitioner medical suite or a storefront under a thousand square feet, so the design has to earn its place in a tight space rather than relying on scale to make an impression.
What does a full-service project include?
It covers everything from the first floor plan to the final walkthrough, and in a building with a co-op board, that includes preparing your submission so the project has the paperwork it needs before work can start. Beth Insabella Walsh is on every one of these herself.
