How a Project Works

1. Start with a conversation

A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.

2. Design and decisions

Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.

3. We carry it to the finish

We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

Do you design luxury lofts and condos in Newark?

Yes. A converted loft and a new construction condo actually need different playbooks. In the loft, we work around what the building's board will and will not let us alter, brick and timber especially. In new construction, the building is a blank shell, so more of the character has to come from what we add: floor pattern changes, a defined kitchen zone, lighting that does not just wash the ceiling.

Are you a good fit for corporate clients with supplier-diversity goals?

Yes. Procurement teams can verify our WBENC certification directly, and we are used to the documentation a corporate vendor file requires alongside the design work itself, invoicing formats, insurance certificates, the paperwork that often slows a smaller firm down on a first project with a large organization.

Do you handle hospitality and restaurant interiors?

Yes. Timing tends to be the real constraint on these projects: an opening near the arts district often ties to a show or event calendar rather than a flexible date, so we build the schedule backward from that hard date instead of treating it as a soft target.

Can you work with the exposed brick and industrial features of a converted loft?

Absolutely. The usual failure mode is over restoring the brick until it looks fake, so we leave the mortar joints and the wear alone and put our attention into what actually needs solving: sound control between old timber floors, enough outlets and lighting circuits for a modern household, and furniture scaled to a ceiling height a typical home never has.

Do you take on institutional and civic projects in Newark?

We do. These projects usually move through a committee or a board rather than one decision maker, so we build in review points and present options with enough documentation, material boards, budget ranges, maintenance implications, that a group can actually reach consensus without the project stalling in approvals.
