Interior Design in Tewksbury, New Jersey
Tewksbury is where the suburbs give way to something older and grander: rolling hills, working farms, stone walls, and horse pastures that stretch to the tree line. This is Hunterdon County horse country, a landscape of restored 18th-century and 19th-century farmhouses, gentleman's estates on real acreage, and the quiet, moneyed ease of a place that has never needed to prove itself. The village of Oldwick, with its white clapboard and general-store charm, sits at the heart of it.
The wealth here is the understated, established kind. Owners of these properties tend to value authenticity, provenance, and craftsmanship over flash, and they hold their land and their homes to a standard set by generations. A Tewksbury estate is not a house on a lot; it is a relationship with a piece of the country, and the interiors have to honor that.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Tewksbury
Tewksbury's antique farmhouses and estates are among the most rewarding homes we work on, and the most demanding of authenticity. Original hand-hewn beams, wide-plank floors, deep-set windows, and walk-in hearths are the whole point, and our first commitment is always to protect and celebrate them. We renovate and reinterpret with a light, knowing hand, so new work reads as if it has always belonged.
Within that framework we design chef-caliber custom kitchens with honed stone, reclaimed materials, and cabinetry that respects the age of the house; spa-caliber primary baths that add modern comfort without breaking the spell; libraries, studies, mudrooms built for boots and dogs, and the millwork and built-ins that make a rambling country house feel coherent. For larger estates we plan for entertaining, for guests, and for the equestrian life these properties often support.

Commercial Interior Design in Tewksbury
Tewksbury's charm is rural, but its village centers support the kind of refined small businesses that suit their surroundings, and we design them with the same care we bring to its homes. From boutique shops and inns around Oldwick to private professional offices, tasting rooms, and equestrian and country-property amenities, we create interiors that feel authentic to the setting rather than imported from a city.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Renovating a Tewksbury farmhouse or estate takes patience, restraint, and real reverence for the original. Because we manage every phase in-house, from first concept through the final installed detail, we can pair sensitive historic work with modern comfort and keep the whole project on one accountable track, which matters when the house is two centuries old and every intervention shows.
Every Tewksbury project runs through founder Beth Insabella Walsh personally. In a close-knit community where families have known their land and neighbors for generations and referrals are the only advertising that counts, that consistency is everything. We treat each of these estates as the irreplaceable piece of country it is.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

Tewksbury Interior Design FAQs
Do you specialize in Tewksbury's antique farmhouses and estates?
Yes, it is the majority of our work in this part of Hunterdon County. Every project starts with what the house was already built with, not a catalog finish, and we bring in period-appropriate materials before we touch a floor plan.
Can you add a modern kitchen without ruining the character of an old house?
Absolutely, and it is usually the first room clients ask us to tackle. We match cabinetry profiles and hardware to the house's original era, so the new kitchen reads like it was always there rather than added on.
Do you work in Oldwick, Pottersville, and Mountainville?
Yes. We work throughout Tewksbury and its hamlets, including Oldwick, Pottersville, Mountainville, and the surrounding country properties on acreage.
Do you design for equestrian and estate properties?
Yes. Barns, tack rooms, and the boot rooms that connect a house to its pastures are part of how we plan a country property, alongside space for guests staying the weekend.
Is the founder personally involved in Tewksbury projects?
Yes, and in historic work that matters more than usual. Beth walks the property herself before any wall comes down, so decisions about what to preserve get made firsthand, not from a photograph.
Will you honor antiques and provenance in the design?
Yes. We look for pieces with real history, family antiques, estate finds, well-made vintage, and mix them with new work so a room feels gathered over time rather than installed in a week.
