Libraries and larger living rooms

A library or generous living room can accommodate conversation, reading, and display without losing a sense of order. We plan furniture groups and walking routes first, then coordinate shelving, lighting, and rugs to define each area.

Collections and entertaining

Books, art, music, and entertaining preferences can all shape a room. We establish what you want on display and what needs storage, then develop cabinetry and lighting around the collection and the way you use it.

How a project works

01

Define the project

Tell us about the space, your priorities, and the design support you need. We discuss the next step and any consultation fee before arranging a meeting. A detailed proposal follows the initial consultation, setting out the services and design fees.

02

Develop the design together

Review layouts, materials, lighting, and furnishing selections with us. We refine the design around your preferences and prepare the drawings and specifications included in the scope, so the project team has a coordinated direction.

03

Bring the interior to completion

We coordinate the agreed work with your contractor and trades, manage furnishing orders and delivery arrangements, and stay involved through installation and styling. Building access and product lead times are considered alongside the project schedule.

Saddle River interior design questions

Can you design a library or dedicated entertaining room?

Yes. We can discuss these as part of a defined residential scope. The brief considers the room's activities, storage or display needs, furnishings, lighting, and any technology coordination required.

Can a project start with a few rooms rather than the whole home?

Yes. We can discuss a defined group of rooms and consider how they relate to the wider house. The agreed scope establishes what is designed now and any broader direction that would be useful for later work.

What affects the design budget and timeline?

The rooms involved, extent of renovation, custom work, product availability, building requirements, and installation needs all affect the project. Share your priorities and anticipated investment at the initial consultation; a detailed proposal follows that conversation. Any consultation fee is explained before a meeting is arranged.

Can you work with my architect or contractor?

Yes. We coordinate the agreed interior design scope with the relevant project professionals. Design, engineering, construction, and approvals have different responsibilities, which should be established for the individual project.
