Interior Design in Edison, New Jersey
Edison was Raritan Township until 1954, renamed for Thomas Edison, who built his research lab in the township's Menlo Park section in 1876. The Edison Memorial Tower, raised in 1937, still marks the site. What's grown up around that history is one of Middlesex County's largest townships: Raritan Center, a 2,300-acre business park with roughly 13 million square feet of office and industrial space; JFK Medical Center, a hospital with about 500 beds; and Oak Tree Road, one of the largest South Asian retail corridors in the country.
That scale runs through the residential side too. North Edison and the quieter enclaves around it hold larger colonials and custom homes owned by professional families who want them to feel finished, not merely furnished. INSABELLADESIGN serves Edison and greater Middlesex County with full-service interior design: space planning, custom kitchens and baths built for households that actually cook and entertain, primary suites, home offices, and the millwork and lighting that give a large house intention from room to room.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Edison
Edison's upscale homes, the larger colonials and custom builds through North Edison, are where we do most of our residential work. These are houses with real square footage, and the job is making that footage feel finished: custom kitchens built for households that genuinely cook, spa-caliber primary baths, a home office built for a serious video call, millwork and built-ins that give a large house intention instead of just size. A second range or an oversized pantry often gets planned in, since a lot of Edison kitchens feed more than one generation at once.
Many Edison homeowners bring specific, individual taste to a project, a particular stone, a cultural aesthetic, an entertaining style built around a big table rather than a small one, and we design around that instead of flattening it into a single default look. That means blending strong personal preferences with discipline in proportion, palette, and flow, so a large house reads as a considered whole and not a room-by-room wish list.

Commercial Interior Design in Edison
Commercial work is a real part of what we do in Edison, not an add-on, because the township is one of central Jersey's densest business hubs. We design corporate offices, professional suites, and medical and dental practices, including the kind of clinical spaces that serve a hospital corridor built around JFK Medical Center. Reception areas, private offices, conference rooms, and treatment suites all get the same rigor: layouts that respect workflow and code, materials that survive heavy daily traffic, and a level of finish that tells a client, patient, or recruit this is a serious operation.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Edison is large enough that a homeowner or a practice manager could easily get shuffled between account managers on a project this size. We don't run projects that way. Every Edison commission, a North Edison kitchen or a suite near Raritan Center, runs through founder Beth Insabella Walsh personally, from the first walkthrough to the final punch list, with no handoff to a second team partway through.
This is a WBENC-certified, woman-owned firm, ASID and IIDA credentialed, that has designed interiors since 1996. For a practice near JFK Medical Center or an office inside Raritan Center, that certification is often part of a vendor's procurement requirements, not just a credential on a website. For a family in North Edison, it's simply who shows up to run the job.

As an architect with considerable experience with differing project types, working with Beth and her staff has been a pleasure. Beth's team brought a fresh approach to the tired-looking interior of a subsidized housing midrise project built in the 1970s. Insabella Design is a highly skilled, motivated, and reliable firm that can be an asset to any interior design project. She and her team are dependable and committed to achieving excellence in their work. I look forward to working with Beth on our next project.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

What does full service include?
Drawings, custom millwork and casework, lighting design, finishes, furnishings, procurement, trade coordination and installation. We coordinate the trades and manage the schedule.

Yes. Vito Mazza Salon and Woodbridge Tenant Lounge are in Middlesex County. The studio is in Little Silver and we work across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Florida.
Do you design commercial spaces as well as homes?
Yes. Alongside residential work we design medical, corporate, government, retail and multifamily interiors. Work in Middlesex County includes Vito Mazza Salon and Woodbridge Tenant Lounge.
Do you take single rooms, or only whole homes?
Both. Scope runs from a single room to a full renovation or new build.
How do your fees work?
It depends on scope, from a single room to a full renovation or new build. After an initial consultation we provide a detailed proposal.
Who leads the project?
