Interior Design in Hopewell Township, New Jersey
Hopewell Township is the part of Mercer County where the fields open up: the Sourland ridge along its western reach, fieldstone farmhouses built before 1800, and Titusville, on the Delaware next to Washington Crossing State Park, where Washington's army crossed in 1776. A short drive away sits the 433-acre former Bristol-Myers Squibb campus, now leased to life-sciences tenants, proof the township isn't only farmland. People buy acreage here on purpose, trading Princeton's density for land, quiet, and a house set back from the road.
A pre-1800 fieldstone farmhouse has walls two feet thick, load-bearing by necessity, with low ceilings and a floor plan built around a single central hearth rather than open living. The first decision on a restoration is almost always mechanical: where a duct, a plumbing stack, or new wiring can travel without cutting into stone that's holding the house up, since routing anything through those walls is never a given the way it is in a stick-framed house.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Hopewell Township
The historic side of our Hopewell work is preservation with a practical head: a Federal or Colonial farmhouse with wide-plank floors, hand-hewn beams, and a walk-in hearth needs a kitchen, bathrooms, heating, and lighting the original builders never planned for. We source salvaged timber and reproduction hardware to match what's there, work out where a bathroom can go without relocating a chimney, and detail every addition so the seam between old and new isn't obvious from across the room.
The newer side is the custom estate: a house built on open acreage, meant to look settled into the land rather than dropped onto it. These call for great rooms scaled to match, kitchens built for real cooking and entertaining, wine rooms, paneled studies, and mudrooms sized for a household that comes in from outside, too. We build them from reclaimed timber and natural stone that holds up to a working property, where the barn matters as much as the house.

Commercial Interior Design in Hopewell Township
Hopewell's commercial work is small in scale and specific in character: professional offices around Hopewell Borough and Pennington, private medical and veterinary practices, and the occasional winery or event barn trading on the area's own rural setting. It sits at a distance from the township's other commercial story, the 433-acre former Bristol-Myers Squibb campus off Pennington-Rocky Hill Road, now leased to life-sciences tenants, a reminder that Hopewell runs on more than farmland.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
An estate project on acreage runs long and touches every building on the property, main house, barn, guest quarters, pool house, and it deserves one designer who stays with it the whole way. That's founder Beth Insabella Walsh, who leads every Hopewell project personally, from the first walk of the fields to the last lamp placed: one point of view across every structure on the property, not a different decision-maker for each one.
We're a full-service firm equipped for exactly this scope of project: space planning, custom kitchens and baths, millwork, lighting, furnishings, art, and project management, coordinated across a main house and every outbuilding on the property at once. On a Hopewell estate, where the trades are numerous and the property is large, one firm tracking every decision means the owner deals with a single point of contact instead of managing subcontractors building by building.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.
