Interior Design in Princeton, New Jersey
A better Princeton interior is rarely the result of adding more. It comes from recognizing what deserves to remain, what must change to support the people using the space, and where a precise plan can bring order to a house or professional environment with real character. That may mean rethinking a kitchen without flattening its relationship to the rest of the home, or giving an office a more credible and comfortable arrival.
A Mercer County market of historic homes, newer architecture, academic and professional life, where interior design must be as thoughtful as the architecture around it. We treat that as a practical starting point. Before discussing individual finishes, we want to understand which rooms carry the most pressure, what needs to be retained, and how the completed environment should support the people who use it.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Princeton
Our residential work can include whole-home renovation, kitchens, baths, libraries, home offices, custom millwork, lighting, art, and furnishings. The process begins with the architectural conditions and the client’s routine, then carries those decisions through drawings, materials, and installation so the finished rooms belong together.
Historic and whole-home renovation, kitchens, baths, libraries, home offices, custom millwork, lighting, art, and furnishing plans. The strongest result is not produced by a single selection. It comes from deciding how the rooms should work together, then carrying that decision into the cabinetry, light, material palette, furnishing, and detail.

- Furniture-grade custom kitchens

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Beth Insabella Walsh, ASID, IIDA, CID, founded INSABELLADESIGN in 1996. For a Princeton engagement, the value of a principal-led practice is continuity: the design direction stays connected to the decisions about layout, materials, custom work, furnishing, and installation. The WBENC-certified woman-owned firm works with a senior team to document and coordinate the details that make a project buildable as well as beautiful.
A room feels unforced when the planning behind it is deliberate. That is the practical-luxury standard: a complete interior in which movement, comfort, maintenance, material character, and visual calm reinforce one another.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.

What does full service include?
Drawings, custom millwork and casework, lighting design, finishes, furnishings, procurement, trade coordination and installation. We coordinate the trades and manage the schedule.
Have you worked in this area?
Yes. Princeton Residence is in Mercer County. The studio is in Little Silver and we work across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Florida.
Do you design commercial spaces as well as homes?
Yes. Alongside residential work we design medical, corporate, government, retail and multifamily interiors.
Do you take single rooms, or only whole homes?
Both. Scope runs from a single room to a full renovation or new build.
How do your fees work?
It depends on scope, from a single room to a full renovation or new build. After an initial consultation we provide a detailed proposal.
