Interior Design in Cranbury South Brunswick, New Jersey
Cranbury Village is the best-preserved nineteenth-century village in Middlesex County. It's been a National Register historic district since 1980, its Main Street lined with Greek Revival and Victorian houses that have barely changed in a century. It shares a border with South Brunswick, whose villages, Kendall Park, Monmouth Junction, and Dayton, grew up entirely differently: newer subdivisions built along the Route 1 corridor north of Princeton. Interior design in this area means working comfortably in both directions.
The area's newer executive homes share a familiar builder's vocabulary: two-story foyers, open great rooms, primary suites sized generously and finished plainly, the same recessed lighting and beige trim regardless of price point. Closer to Cranbury Village, older colonials and working farmhouses call for the opposite skill, protecting original moldings, wide-board floors, and room proportions while updating what's failing behind them. Both jobs start with the same question: what does this house already have that's worth keeping, and what was simply left unfinished.

Luxury Residential Interior Design in Cranbury South Brunswick
In the area's newer executive homes, the work is about giving scale a reason to exist. A two-story foyer and an open great room arrive with square footage but not much else: no ceiling detail, no millwork, one flush-mount fixture per room. We add coffered or beamed ceilings sized to the room, statement fixtures, and furniture plans built for the actual footprint instead of a showroom vignette. The kitchen is almost always the anchor, rebuilt with custom cabinetry, stone counters, and real storage.
Closer to Cranbury Village and out toward Fresh Ponds, the houses run older: colonials and farmhouses where the job reverses. We protect the original moldings, door casings, and floor widths, then bring the kitchen and baths current inside that frame, running new lighting through joist bays instead of dropped ceilings and opening layouts only where the structure allows it. Trim on any new work gets milled to match the existing profile, not a modern substitute.

Commercial Interior Design in Cranbury South Brunswick
South Brunswick sits along the Route 1 corridor north of Princeton, home to a steady base of corporate and medical offices. That base creates real demand for professional interiors: reception areas that read as competent on sight, layouts that respect patient flow and code in a medical suite, and finishes durable enough for daily foot traffic.

The INSABELLADESIGN Difference
Whether the project is a new executive home near Dey Road or a two-hundred-year-old house inside the Cranbury Village district, it runs through one person: founder Beth Insabella Walsh, from the first walk-through to the final placement. That single relationship matters more in a preservation project than a new build, since every decision, down to a single trim profile, has to be weighed against a house that's stood since the 1800s.
We're a full-service firm: space planning, custom kitchens and baths, millwork, lighting, furnishings, procurement, and trade coordination, managed so a family with two working schedules isn't also managing subcontractors. ASID and IIDA credentialed, WBENC-certified and woman-owned, a model that's held since 1996 across Middlesex County and the surrounding towns.

I must say it's been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Beth and her team at Insabella Design. My boss has been a long time client of Beth, over 25 years. And over those many years I was fortunate enough to work with Beth directly. She is extremely attentive and knows exactly what needs to be done. She has designed numerous major renovations and reconstruction projects for us. She has always been a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the projects to the very end. If I ever needed something in a pinch she always makes it happen. I would be completely lost without her and her support in keeping my boss comfortable and happy. Thank you Beth, to you and your team for your excellent services.

How a Project Works
1. Start with a conversation
A consultation at our Little Silver studio or your property. We talk through the space, the scope, how you live or work in it, and what you want the finished project to accomplish. No obligation, and you will always be speaking with Beth.
2. Design and decisions
Space planning, materials, millwork and cabinetry design, lighting, and furnishings developed into one coherent plan, with drawings and documentation your contractor and trades can actually build from.
3. We carry it to the finish
We coordinate the trades, manage orders and timelines, and stay on the project through installation and styling, so you get a completed space rather than a plan left for you to assemble.
